From the HP download page, I changed to Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 in the 64bit versions AND the 32bit versions, and none of them gave me the PCL5 option, only PCL6. You said the PCL6 version does not work, so I did not try. I would appreciate any further suggestions. I thank you for your time and expertise.
I got it to work, but it's printing faint. The toner is fine, I used to have this same printer connected to a Win7 machine & it printed better quality. Is there some way to make it print darker?

At 2:10 you say to download the PCL5 driver, which has a date of Nov. 2, 2015. Now I don't get that driver, but two others (neither PCL5, rather PCL6 and PostScript), both dated Sept. 8, 2020. Has HP removed the PCL5 driver? In the pinned comment you said you provide a direct link in the description–ok, I see it in Google drive. BTW, the "Change" button on the upper right is now a " Choose a different OS" link on the left.

I have windows 8.1 64 bit and trying to install HP Lasetjet 1010. I have followed every step in this video but unable to get my printer to work. When I install PCL6 then I get "Unsupported Personality: PCLXL" error. and on PCL 5 system does not even send any command to printer.
