The only thing that sketches me out is that the "trees planted" counter goes up by 1 every second at a consistent rate. It makes me think the counter is fake.

Desertification isn't caused by climate change. It becomes accelerated because water isn't being held in the soil and therefore less water is evaporated in ro clouds for rainfall. Desertification is primarily the cause of human actions. I know this wasn't the primary purpose of this video. But if you are going to say something like that, please say it correctly.

Actually, they don’t claim every time you search a tree is planted. It says that every 45 searches you make, a tree is planted.
The extension's great, but I hope they'll work on their safesearch engine soon. I keep seeing inappropriate things online even when I have the strictest mode on.
i started using ecosia like 1 week ago and you can ,,plant" a tree by 45 searches…and idk if i was the only one but when i finally got that number i was literally so happyy. I just love ecosia so much

Microsoft has actually made a plan to eventually offset 100% of the carbon they have EVER PRODUCED. Yes, offsetting is not as good as just being sustainable to begin with, but we're not talking about what they are doing going forward. I literally mean that Microsoft is investing in offsets (tree planting, carbon capture, etc.) For carbon they expelled in the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s. Decades of them being the biggest or one of the biggest tech companies in existence, and they are agreeing to do what could be discribed as "taking back" all the carbon they contributed. Sure, this won't get the rare earth metals back, turn plastic back into petroleum inside the earth, or empty out the landfills. But, I'm just saying, this being/Google comparison in this video is no longer accurate or revelvent, since like a year after this video was published. So, if you take this new info into account… Ecosia is really killing it.

Hello, your report is very well thought out, but I want to add something:
-Bing may be less "green" than Google, but ECOSIA has its own solar power plant, which "reimburses" their search footprint (only Ecosia's on Bing's servers).
-If ECOSIA still exists, it is thanks to Bing, because, at the beginning, ECOSIA used Google's servers, which then fired them, for logical economic reasons, and Bing then agreed to "help" them.
It's not every time you search something. It says it on their website how many searches it takes on average to plant one tree

I started using Ecosia after seeing how climate change devastated Texas with a snow storm.
Global warming is the cause of desertification????? Complete nonsense falasies. If man made global warming (or nowadays called Climate change because "global warming" obviously was exposed as being a non-truth and a global systematic fallacy unlike anything we have ever seen.
Desertification has been happening over the course of hundreds-thousands of years so desertification is unequivocally not influenced by man's combustion engines, farming, or manufacturing/industry. The desert in Africa has been so thousands of years before "industry" or man made anything exsisted. This is such a crock of garbage from this Youtube creator/channel. They hope you won't do you're own research. (5% of everything this activist said during the course of this video is definitively false and untrue.
Don't try to insult us who don't just accept assertians at face value. I feel insulted that you even attempted to pass your statements/ideas as fact.
